Creating surface sets

Although you can have multiple representations of a surface, only one will be brought forward when creating a fault model or 3D structural model. You can create multiple models using the different representations.

The creation of surface sets is a key step in preparing your data for the modeling workflow. A surface set is a consistent group of surfaces which you can use as a data source for fault modeling and structural modeling. The Surface Sets workflow (prepare > Surfaces) enables you to create a surface set in the JewelExplorer and assign surfaces to it. Subsequently, you can triangulate faults, which is a prerequisite if you want to assign them to a Fault Model at a later stage. You can assign multiple geometric representations (i.e. a polyline set, a 2D grid, a tri-mesh and/or a point set) of a single surface. It depends on the purpose of the surface set which type of geometric representation(s) the surface set should contain.
